Bev Schultz, Lifestyle Property Specialist, REALTOR®, GRI, SRS, PSA
My Background in Real Estate
My interest in real estate began in my home state of North Carolina, in the mid-1990s. I was hired as an office assistant by a successful agent. I completed typical office-related tasks such as answering the phone, filing paperwork, and occasionally would conduct open house for the agent. Sometimes I was present during her meetings with clients and customers. Indirectly, I learned the importance of time management, organization, and client relations. Later, I was hired again, as an office assistant, by a law firm that specialized in real estate transactions. I filed paperwork, typed legal descriptions for deeds that were dictated by attorneys, delivered documents to the register of deeds for recording, and sometimes assisted with organizing closings for clients and customers. It was interesting to see how real property was conveyed from one owner to another. A few years later I was hired as an administrative assistant by a land development company. It was fascinating to see plat maps and how suburban neighborhoods were developed from the ground up, including the formation of homeowners associations.
I’d had other jobs before considering becoming an agent. I did attend fundamental real estate classes while in North Carolina but never attained my license because I’d just had my first child and life was too demanding to pursue my interest in a real estate career. I didn’t give it another thought until years later after my children and I relocated to Wisconsin. In 2014, when my children were older and life was generally more manageable, I decided to once again, pursue my interest in the field. I attended classes through the Wisconsin REALTORS® Association and in 2015 attained my license.
I believe the organization and time management skills I gained from the various positions I held as an office assistant in my work history combined with my previous education in real estate helped prepare me for my chosen profession. I find the work I do is meaningful and fulfilling especially as it relates to helping buyers and sellers.
I am best known for being a kind, caring, empathetic agent sensitive to the needs and goals of the people I serve. I have a passion for professionalism and service often going above and beyond the call of duty to ensure I am providing my clients and customers with the best possible communication, service, and satisfaction. You can rest assured, when you choose me as your agent, you are choosing a seasoned professional who cares not only about performing her duties with the utmost professionalism, integrity, and confidence, but also an agent who cares about the real estate needs of the people she serves.
The Alphabet Soup Behind My Name
Lifestyle Property Specialist
United Country Real Estate is the leading, fully integrated network of conventional and auction real estate professionals in the nation. Our company has been an innovator in lifestyle and country real estate marketing since 1925.
For more than 90 years, United Country has helped America rediscover a dream that’s as old as America itself; love of the land, and the dream of owning property. If you’re searching for country homes, farms and ranches, recreational property, luxury estates, commercial property or any other of our dozens of specialty property groups, we are your #1 source for lifestyle real estate.
I specialize in marketing the lifestyle a property offers rather than just the location, square footage, and the number of rooms it may have. Most often, buyers are more interested in locating a property that best represents their desired lifestyle and speaking from my own experience, it can be very frustrating trying to locate a 10-Acre hobby farm for sale, a country home for sale, or a 50-acre apple orchard for sale when they have to start their search with the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, as most buyers are prompted to do on any typical real estate company website. THIS IS HOW WE DIFFER FROM OTHER REAL ESTATE COMPANIES!
What’s the difference between a Real Estate Agent and a REALTOR®?
The term REALTOR® is a trademark referring to someone who's an active member of the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR). In the United States, a real estate agent is licensed to help consumers buy and sell commercial or residential property. However, not all real estate agents are REALTORS®, nor are all REALTORS® necessarily real estate agents. Home appraisers, property managers, real estate counselors and real estate brokers also can be members of the NAR, earning them the title of REALTOR®.
I am a REALTOR®. As such, I am held to a higher standard of ethical practice and must adhere to a Code of Ethics.
GRI, Graduate of REALTOR® Institute
This designation allows me to better serve and protect my clients through an understanding of new technology, laws, and procedures. The GRI designation is to real estate what the CPA designation is to accountants. REALTORS® boasting the GRI designation are set apart as masters of the real estate profession, possessing advanced skills and techniques. REALTORS® with this designation have in-depth training in legal and regulatory issues, technology, and professional standards, as well as the sales process.

The designation is conferred by the Real Estate Business Institute (REBI) to real estate practitioners with advanced professional training essential to representing sellers.

To summarize, SRS designees understand our seller’s perspectives and are qualified and committed to helping our clients achieve a successful transaction.
PSA, Pricing Strategy Advisor
This designation was specifically designed to help designees enhance our skills in pricing properties, creating Comparative Market Analyses (CMA) when working with sellers and appraisers, and helps us guide our clients through the anxieties and misperceptions they often have about home and property values.
The course I took for this designation helped me to identify appropriate comparable properties when researching the market for current, pending, and recent past sales to compare the subject property to. I also gained knowledge about the role that supply and demand plays in pricing; how to adjust comparable properties when comparing them to my subject property; how to guide my clients through the CMA; how to work with appraisers; and, how to hone my pricing skills and practices.
